Cookie policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

In short: no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. At most our host sets one security cookie that is strictly necessary, which is why there is no cookie banner to click away.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, tracking pixels and fingerprinting scripts. Under Dutch law (Article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act) and the EU ePrivacy rules, a website must ask your permission before using any of these, unless they are strictly necessary for the site to work.

2. What this website uses

Nothing that tracks you. In particular, this website:

  • sets no analytics, advertising or social media cookies
  • stores nothing in your browser's local storage or session storage
  • has no analytics (no Google Analytics, no statistics tools)
  • has no advertising or social media pixels
  • has no embedded videos, maps, chat widgets or social media buttons
  • loads its fonts from our own server, not from Google Fonts or another font service

Security cookie from our host

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To protect it against bots and attacks, Cloudflare may set a security cookie (named __cf_bm or cf_clearance). It does not identify you, is not used for tracking or advertising, and expires within 30 minutes (__cf_bm) or after a short validity period (cf_clearance). Cookies like this are strictly necessary, so the law does not require your consent for them. See Cloudflare's cookie explanation.

Because nothing else is placed on your device, we do not need to ask for cookie consent.

3. When you follow a link to a store

The "Buy on" buttons are ordinary links. When you click one, you leave this website and go to Gumroad, Etsy, Amazon, Apple Books or Google Play Books. Those sites use their own cookies and will ask for your consent under their own cookie policies. We have no control over those cookies.

4. Launch emails

Launch emails are sent through Brevo with anonymous tracking switched on. We see combined figures, such as how many emails were opened, but not who opened them or which links a particular person clicked. Links in the emails pass briefly through Brevo's servers before reaching the page, which Brevo uses to protect against abuse.

5. If this changes

If we ever add a tool that uses cookies or similar technology, we will update this page first, and we will ask for your consent before anything that is not strictly necessary is placed on your device.
